Ooty
The “Queen of Blue Hills” has many movies to its credit- ranging from the 80s Sadma to 90s Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi to Raaz of the millennium. The gorgeous landscape of Ooty has been perfectly shown in all these bollywood blockbusters. In fact, the climax of Sadma was shot at the Nilgiris Mountain Railway and is ranked one of the Bollywood’s top 50 most memorable scenes by CNN-IBN.
Darjeeling
Always loved Rajesh Khanna singing “Mere Sapno Ki Rani” from the movie Aradhana? Well, the song changed everything for the actor and brought the pretty hill station to the world map. The movie was majorly shot in Darjeeling covering attractions like the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, Batasia Loop, Monasteries and local markets.
Come 2012! The lovable Ranbir Kapoor a.k.a Barfi made us fall in love again with the picturesque Darjeeling, singing “ala ala matwala barfi”!
